“Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible.” – Anonymous
We believe that breeding dogs is not a right, but a true privilege. As such, there are compelling responsibilities upon anyone who undertakes to do so. As stewards of the English Shepherd, we are honored to add to their advancement and ensure that the lives of our dogs are filled with family, love, health, and the chance to enjoy what an English Shepherd was bred for- whether watching over the homestead, hunting varmints, exploring the world in the company of their human family, or helping with livestock.
Our breeding philosophy is to produce strong, healthy dogs according to the breed type with the wonderful temperament and working characteristics that have made the English Shepherd irreplaceable for generations.
When we breed a litter, we do so in the hopes of producing outstanding dogs and continuing the legacy of our unique Naturally Reared line.
Our philosophy goes far deeper than appearance, pedigree, and working or show titles – it reaches to the very core of health for future generations.
As Natural Rearing breeders, the holistic foundational wellness care of our preservation program focuses on optimal canine nutrition and health: feeding a species-appropriate raw diet, no exposure to chemicals and toxins, building natural immunity, and utilizing natural therapies.
Through Natural Rearing, we are committed to the health of our dogs and the English Shepherd breed for future generations.
We work to preserve the historic English Shepherd by strictly adhering to the breed standard. We avoid blue eyes, excessive white, and breed for recognized colors only. We focus on stable temperament, soundness in structure, working traits, and place an emphasis on epigenetic resilience to restore this most versatile, multi-purpose family dog in the world with a special spark of vitality.
Years of intentional planning and a great deal of time go into each litter, and it is all rewarded in puppy kisses, the ear-to-ear smiles of each new puppy keeper, and an exquisite, healthy dog.
