Welcome to the Ranch!

Highland Glenn Ranch is a small, diversified ranch located in the ruggedly beautiful wilderness of the Kettle Range in Washington State.

There are many facets to our Ranch- from laying hens to dogs to pigs. Foremost we are committed to the stewardship of this land, being sustainable, and conservation of heritage breeds. We work together with our dogs, livestock, and gardens to provide for ourselves and share the bounty with others.

We practice a multi-species, managed grazing system. The livestock lead contented lives in the pasture. Our goal is naturally raised high-quality eggs, meat, and wool. We also offer superior breeding stock to like-minded folks interested in preserving heritage livestock for future generations.

We are also Natural Rearing breeders of English Shepherds – our devoted family companions and working partners – as well as the charming Havanese companion dog.

If you are interested in naturally maintaining the health of your animals whether pet or livestock, Krystal, our resident Certified Small Animal Naturopath, is available for consultations.

There’s always something going on, so come back often to read our Ranch Letters.

The Dream Today

We escaped the hustle and bustle of urban life for the peace and fresh air of the mountains! The search for our special place took us on a journey to northeastern Washington where the enchanting beauty of the Kettle Range inspired Highland Glenn Ranch, the land to which we now belong.

Life on the Ranch hearkens back to the good ole days when life was slower, sustainable, and centered on the seasons, home, and family. The gentle breeze through the pines and the soothing sounds of nature add to the atmosphere. We live in harmony with nature’s ebb and flow. Make no mistake about it, there is a lot of hard work entailed with this way of life, yet it is oh-so rewarding!

In the spirit of the 1800s, we embrace and preserve the richness of the past while utilizing appropriate modern technology. Highland Glenn Ranch is powered by the sun, watered with rain and snow, heated, and built with wood from the glenn.WEB western view

We are committed to land stewardship. Chemical -cides and fertilizers do not touch this pristine ground. No one would be the wiser whether we used such toxins or not. But the little green frog knows. As do the Red-tailed Hawks soaring above, the chickens scratching in the soil, and the shy doe with fawn in the glenn. And WE know!

“… it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” – Laura Ingalls Wilder
