Tadhg’s lineage traces back to a few rare, old-line Black & Tans. He is 1st generation Naturally Reared.
An Irish/Scottish Gaelic name, Tadhg (pronounced like “tiger,” without the –er), means “poet or storyteller”. As a very vocal pup, he suits his name!
From parents known for their social and easy-going nature, Tadhg is very kind and social with new people. Standing around 24 inches tall and 60-ish pounds, he is a striking Tricolor (minimal white) with beautiful and correct structure, very athletic, has moderate energy, and settles well until we need him. Those long legs cover lots of ground… and fast!
Ever watchful and alert, Tadhg warns off coyotes, bobcats, wolves, cougars, and black bears. And lets us know when there are winged invaders.
His vibrant personality, truly loving emotional connection to his human family, combined with a nice balance of confidence and caution, make Tadhg an absolute delight. He loves eye contact and has great focus. Not much rattles him… he just stops and thinks. A quick learner, he is keen with the stock and readily directed. He simply adores the barn cats (and they him!)
As serendipity would have it, Tadhg took his first steps toward us on the same day we lost our beloved Fahey. He has large paws to fill. Yet we have no doubt he will make his own unique indelible mark on our hearts and the English Shepherd breed.
